Clear skies for Spideypool result in a historical event
Although Deadpool’s bisexuality and preoccupation with Spiderman is canon, the Spideypool ship has always sailed under dark clouds of negativity from the majority of Deadpool’s fan base. On February 28, 2013 the mysterious fog around whether Deadpool’s canon interest in Spiderman is romantic or not cleared when official Deadpool artist, Mike Hawthorne, tweeted his own Spideypool art while in the studio
and Marvel’s official Deadpool twitter retweeted it with the following comment:
one time when i was high i got really upset because bats eat spiders and what if batman comes into contact with spiderman what will happen will spiderman be okay

Reading this early on, versus the Green Lantern of the same era, is partially what swayed me to Marvel.
Seriously go read Showcase Green Lantern and then go read Essential Iron Man; the differences are astounding.
